PetPlanny ("the app") is made by Ky (KYSeung). Contact: [email protected]
What the app stores, and where
- Your pets' records stay on your device, in the app's private storage: profiles, vaccinations, vet visits, weights, medications and doses, care schedules, walks, and the photos and PDFs you attach. The app has no account and no server for these records, and we never receive them.
- Reminders are scheduled on your device by Android. They are not sent through any server.
- Backups and exports are files you create and save where you choose (Backup and restore, or Export records (CSV)). Backup files are not encrypted. Anyone who gets the file can read the records and photos in it, so keep it somewhere you trust. Android's automatic cloud backup is turned off for this app.
Advertising (free version)
The free version shows one banner ad, served by Google AdMob. The Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and process device identifiers such as the Android advertising ID, your IP address and an approximate location derived from it, interactions with ads and general app usage, and diagnostics. It uses them to show and measure ads, to prevent fraud, and for analytics. See How Google uses information from apps that use its services.
- Your pet's information is never given to the ad SDK. Ad requests contain no names, medications, notes or files.
- EEA, UK and other regions where consent is required: you are asked before personalised ads are used. You can change your choice at any time in Settings › Ad privacy choices.
- Advertising ID: you can reset it, or opt out of ad personalisation, in Android Settings › Privacy › Ads.
- Ads are not shown on screens where you record medications, vaccinations or other health information.
Crash reports and usage statistics
Release versions of the app send two kinds of technical data so we can fix problems and know how many people use it:
- Crash reports (Sentry): when the app hits an error, the error message, where in the code it happened, your device model, OS version and app version. No screenshots, no record of what you were doing, and none of your pets' records.
- Usage count (PostHog): an "app opened" event with a random ID created for this installation. It contains none of your pets' records and is not linked to your name, email or advertising ID.
Sentry (Functional Software, Inc., USA) and PostHog (PostHog Inc., USA) process this data only on our behalf. It is encrypted in transit.
